The Top Finalists Are Announced in the Hungry Jack(R) Use Up the Box Recipe and Essay Contest

ORRVILLE, Ohio, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Looking into the pantry for meal time inspiration has never been so rewarding!  Thanks to deliciously 'out of the box' recipe creations, nine creative at-home chefs are no longer among the 77% of Americans who reportedly throw away pantry items they fail to use entirely*.  Today, the makers of Hungry Jack® and Food Network chef, Adam Gertler, are pleased to announce the top nine finalists in the first-ever Hungry Jack Use Up the Box Recipe and Essay Contest. Your vote will help three of these finalists win a year's worth of groceries.

Consumers from across the country were inspired by Chef Gertler's creative Hungry Jack recipes and submitted innovative recipes of their own in one of the three categories – Hungry Jack Instant Mashed Potatoes, Pancake Mix and Syrup – using simple pantry staples found in their kitchens. After the initial round of judging, the top nine finalists in the three categories are:

The three finalists with the highest point totals from the combined judging and online voting will each receive a year's worth of groceries.
