NEW YORK, June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer & AIDS Research has announced the New York Golf Classic to be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. The event will feature a special musical performance by international recording artist and American Idol alum Chris Daughtry. The event will start with Registration & Lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. Scramble, Shotgun Start and a 5 p.m. Reception & Musical Performance.

The T.J. Martell Foundation funds innovative prostate cancer research at Columbia University Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
At this year's event, the Foundation will be presenting Mitchell Benson, M.D., Emeritus Chair, Department of Urology, Columbia University Medical Center with the Scientific Achievement Award for Excellence in Prostate Cancer Research. "We've made significant progress in prostate cancer treatments and quality of life for patients over the past five years. My colleagues and I commend the T.J. Martell Foundation for their continued support and appreciate their demonstrated commitment to funding innovative research," says Dr. Benson.
Hudson National Golf Club was rated one of the "Top 100 Golf Courses in America in 2014" by Golf Digest. The golf club opened in June of 1996 and quickly forged a national reputation around its traditional design, supreme conditioning, and spectacular Hudson River views. Hudson National hosted the 2004 Metropolitan Open, August 23-26, making it the first club ever to host three Metropolitan Golf Association events in its first eight years.
