"Georgia is home to so many incredible companies that deserve to be recognized for their innovation and contributions to the state's technology community," said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG. "We encourage all of our technology companies to apply for the Top 40 and help us shine a spotlight on the Georgia technologies that are making a difference in our lives and businesses throughout the state and beyond."
The "Top 40" designation is awarded based on specific criteria that include: scope, degree and financial impact of innovation, likelihood of success and promotion of Georgia's technology industry nationally and internationally. To be eligible, a company must be based in Georgia and be primarily focused on the development and sale of technology.
The selection committee will also identify the Top 10 Innovative Technology Companies. These companies will give a brief presentation to the 2012 Georgia Technology Summit's attendees, which last year exceeded 1,000. All "Top 40" companies will participate in an exhibition at the Summit and receive numerous promotional opportunities through TAG.
"Our goal for the 2012 Top 40 program is that we not only receive a record number of high quality applications, but that those applications come from all corners of the state," stated Dennis Zakas, a founder of Zakas & Leonard, LLP and Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee.
The 2012 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) will be held March 28 at the Cobb Galleria. For more information about TAG and the Georgia Technology Summit and to register for the event, visit http://www.tagonline.org/georgia-technology-summit.php .
