The Strategic 100 LA: Latin America's Top 100 Infrastructure Projects for 2013 is Released Ahead of the 11th Latin American Infrastructure Leadership Forum in Mexico City

The Strategic 100 LA
The Strategic 100 LA projects were selected based on a three-month process looking at more than 200 projects from the Americas and the Caribbean. Selection was based around five specific criteria assessing a project's: (1) Business Opportunity; (2) Competitiveness creation; (3) Job Creation; (4) Productivity Creation and; (5) Carbon efficiency / sustainability.
The infrastructure projects in this year's Strategic 100 LA highlight projects that are critical for the future of the region -- and that will, in fact, define the region for the next generation. Overall values are the following: Surface Transportation ($23.9 billion); Urban Mass Transit ($33.3 billion); Airports ($11.9 billion est.); Freight ($23.7 billion); Renewables Generation ($3.4 billion); Traditional Electricity & Transmission ($5.7 billion); Hydroelectric ($8.8 billion); Oil & Gas ($16.5 billion); Water & Wastewater ($21.9 billion).
