The Steel Market Development Institute Presents World-Class Media Center at the 2017 Washington Auto Show®
WASHINGTON, Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington Auto Show®, the public policy show on the auto industry circuit and the largest consumer show in Washington D.C., will feature a state-of-the-art media center specifically designed to meet the needs of press attending the 2017 event. The media center will be sponsored by the Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI), a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute.
"As fuel economy and safety standards increase, so does the need for high-performance vehicles," said Jody Hall, vice president, automotive market, SMDI. "The Washington Auto Show is a great opportunity for SMDI to showcase the benefits of advanced high-strength steels in developing vehicles that are lightweight, fuel efficient and durable. The media center will provide world-class services and amenities for visiting press including high speed Internet connections, computer and mobile charging stations, press kits and show materials, social media updates, catered food and refreshments and much more. Press and media professionals will enjoy private space for working, dedicated support staff and close proximity to the show floor.
The media center will open for the MobilityTalks Internationalsm global transportation symposium (Tuesday, Jan. 24 and Wednesday, Jan. 25), and will continue to be available throughout the Public Policy Preview Day (Thursday, Jan. 26) and the 10-day public show Friday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Feb. 5. The media center will be located next to the Auto Show office off the L Street bridge on the second level.
