The State Museum Hosts "Hidden Treasures" Scavenger Hunt
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Friends of the State Museum will host a modern-day treasure hunt for adults, allowing them to see museum pieces rarely on display. The event is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21.
The ticketed event is held in conjunction with Harrisburg's "Third in the Burg." The partnership of galleries and businesses celebrates local artists and their work on the third Friday of each month.
"This is our third annual 'Hidden Treasures' event and each year, we showcase items never seen before," said Jonathan Edmunds, president of the Friends group. "The State Museum is a treasure trove of history with a uniquely Pennsylvanian perspective. This scavenger hunt through our galleries allows visitors to explore some surprising and provocative artifacts that have defined our commonwealth over centuries."
The event includes a reception with beer, wine, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction. Cost is $30 per ticket or $55 per couple.
