The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Names 2011-2012 Board of Directors
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), an international society of 5,000 higher education planning professionals, announces its 2011-2012 board of directors.
Thomas C. Longin, a senior consultant and facilitator for governing boards and presidents for the Association of Governing Boards (AGB), is president; Niraj Dangoria, assistant dean, Office of Facilities Planning and Management, Stanford University School of Medicine (Stanford, CA), is president-elect; Nancy K. Nusbaum, associate vice president for finance & support services planning, Texas State University-San Marcos (San Marcos, TX), is secretary/treasurer; and Joan Racki, policy and operations officer, Board of Regents, State of Iowa (Urbandale, IA), is immediate past president.
Also serving on the board are five regional representatives: Mark P. Curchack, associate vice president for planning and assessment, Arcadia University (Glenside, PA) for the Mid-Atlantic Region; Robert J. Joy, managing principal, JMZ Architects and Planners, P.C., (Glen Falls, NY) for the North Atlantic Region; Darlene Ebel, director of facilities information and management, University of Illinois at Chicago (Chicago, IL) for the North Central Region; John O. White, assistant vice chancellor for capital development, Office of Capital Planning & Space Management, University of California-Merced (Merced, CA) for the Pacific Region; and Lewis C. Godwin, director of campus planning and projects, Georgia Perimeter College (Atlanta, GA) for the Southern Region.
Valarie Avalone, director of planning at Monroe Community College (Rochester, NY) is at-large director with expertise in community colleges. The other three at-large directors are Jay V. Kahn, vice president for finance and planning, Keene State College (Keene, NH); Philip G. Stack, associate vice president, Risk Management Services, University of Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada), and Dawit Teklu, dean, institutional research assessment and evaluation, Strayer University (Washington, DC).
Ken Higa, principal, Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture (Atlanta, GA) is the Membership Committee chair, and Michael H. Hites, executive chief information officer and associate vice president of administrative information technology services, University of Illinois (Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield campuses, IL) is Professional Development Committee chair.
Jake Julia, associate vice president for change management and associate provost for academic initiatives at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL), is Academy Council chair.
Jolene L. Knapp, CAE, SCUP's executive director, is ex-officio.
