CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: |
The Business Journals invites you to vote for the Social Madness champion, presented by Capital One Spark Business. Social Madness is a one-of-a kind social media competition highlighting companies of all sizes with the best social media strategies in a tournament style challenge. Open to small, medium and large companies, the challenge will measure the growth of a company's social media presence as it competes through multiple rounds of competition. Individual market winners will be determined in the three company size categories in 43 cities across the U.S., followed by three overall national winners. |
So far, more than 4,000 businesses like Columbia Sportswear, Southwest Airlines, Johns Hopkins University, Target and Del Monte Foods, have been nominated across the nation with cities like Atlanta, Georgia; Albany, New York; Phoenix, Arizona; Seattle, Washington; Tampa Bay, Florida; and Washington D.C. taking the lead with the most nominated companies. |
|
Make sure to check out your favorite brands, to see if they have the Social Madness digital badge indicating that they are participating in the challenge. |

WHEN: |
Now through June 18th, all nominated companies will be accumulating points based on the number of connections and engagements made on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. |
The head-to-head phase will begin June 19-July 16 and will include 24 companies from each market in three brackets (eight small, medium and large companies). This four-week leg of the competition will feature a bracket-style challenge, leaving only the three most social-media oriented companies per market to enter the national competition, which will take place July 24-September 10. |
|
WHY: |
Social Madness offers companies the chance to increase their visibility and social media profile not only within their local communities, but also on the national stage for the national phase participants. For small businesses like your local deli or favorite boutique, that opportunity is huge. And, as an added benefit, the three national champions will be able donate $10,000 to the charity of their choice, courtesy of The Business Journals and Capital One Spark Business. |
