The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the Los Angeles and Northern California Markets for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey, California. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, Chief Executive Officer and President, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at the Ritz Carlton's Marina Del Rey Upper Pool Terrace, and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including Cast & Plow and The Chart House.

In the Los Angeles and Northern California Markets, Siegfried is excited about Carl Chan, Simon Duong, Sean Rath, Janna Rudetsky and Darren Smith joining the Firm.

Carl Chan, CPA

Carl is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the San Jose Market as an Associate Manager. He came to Siegfried from McKesson Corporation where he was a Senior Financial Analyst. He began his accounting career with EY as an Assurance Senior. Carl earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Jose State University.

Carl's positive attitude and strong mental agility allow him to motivate others while providing real value to his clients. "I look forward to offering my clients my Energizing Insights while building meaningful relationships and empowering others through mutual respect and support."

In his free time, he enjoys hiking and having quality time with friends. He is also a big fan of Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

Simon Duong, CPA

Simon is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the San Jose Market as a Senior Associate.  He comes to Siegfried from KPMG, where he gained two years of audit experience.  Prior to KPMG, he was with a regional CPA firm for two years.  He received his Bachelors in Economics from UC Berkeley.

Simon embraces challenges in order to promote innovation and improve efficiencies. By exuding a positive attitude and unparalleled dedication, he fosters and motivates his teams to put their best foot forward every day.  Simon says, "The opportunity to take on various roles within a short duration of time while working alongside major players in their respective industries, is why I wanted to join Siegfried."

In his free time, Simon enjoys outdoor activities and tries his best to be as active as possible. He also likes watching all genres of movies and TV shows, and exploring different types of cuisines.

Sean Rath, CA

Sean is an Australian Chartered Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as a Senior Associate. His previous work experience includes Deloitte, where he gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus in mining and infrastructure. He comes to Siegfried from Foxtel, Australia's cable TV provider where he primarily looked after budgets and forecast for programming. He received his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting from Macquarie University in Sydney.

Sean is committed to delivering pioneering solutions and is able to provide efficiencies through his cutting edge thinking and innovative ideas. Sean says "The opportunity to work in multiple industries gaining exposure to various client engagements is why I wanted to be part of The Siegfried Group."

In his free time, Sean stays active and enjoys everything outdoors. He is an avid sports fan and plans to attend as many American sporting events as possible. He also fancies himself as one of the best cooks behind a BBQ with his specialty being kangaroo. During his time at Siegfried he plans to travel throughout America, embracing everything this country has to offer.

Janna Rudetsky, CPA, CA

Janna is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as a Senior Associate. She comes to Siegfried from PwC Vancouver, where she gained three years of audit experience in mining and manufacturing. Janna received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Janna has a strong ability to work well in teams, to solve complex problems and meet tight deadlines. "I joined Siegfried for the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects while growing both professionally and personally".

Janna was born in Ukraine and moved to Canada when she was 11. She has since relocated to Los Angeles and is looking forward to spending her spare time relaxing on the beach and exploring the city. In her free time, Janna enjoys hiking, snowboarding and many other outdoor activities.

Darren Smith, CPA, CA

Darren is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as an Associate Manager. He comes to Siegfried from Calgary, Canada, where he worked at PwC in their Audit and Assurance group for four years with a primary focus in Oil and Gas and Mining industries. Most recently, he worked for a year and a half at Deloitte in their M&A Transactions Group. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta.

Darren joined Siegfried to gain exposure and work collaboratively with clients and teams in order to achieve a common goal. "I came to Siegfried because I wanted to be exposed to multiple industries and various finance and accounting roles in order to broaden my personal and professional skills."

Outside of work, you'll find Darren riding waves at the local surf pier, smashing spikes on the beach volleyball court, camping in the California wilderness and riding his beach cruiser around town. Darren also loves to travel, with India, Costa Rica, Australia and rural Mexico being a few of his favorite places.
