The SI Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary at GEOINT Symposium
New IT Infrastructure and Strong Hiring Mark Successful First Year for the SI
SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The SI Organization, Inc. (the SI) is participating in the GEOINT 2011 Symposium for the first time as an independent company.
"GEOINT is an important event for our business, as we provide enterprise integration, systems engineering, problem-solving and program management capabilities to support geospatial intelligence missions," said Bill Graham, President and CEO of the SI. "We look forward to meeting with customers and mission partners to discuss technology roadmaps and showcase our capability to infuse hard-core analysis into the decision process."
The SI separated from Lockheed Martin to become an independent company in 2010. Over the past year, the SI has fully completed its transition to an independent company and hired more than 300 people to support business growth in core and adjacent markets. It recently launched a new cloud-based IT infrastructure, including intranet, extranet, email, enterprise resource planning system, benefits administration, and payroll services.
To accomplish this systems transition, the SI used the same program management, systems engineering and risk management principles that it has applied and evolved for 40 years in the Intelligence Community.
"Standing up our state-of-the-art IT and business platforms was the final milestone in the evolution of our corporation," said Deb Oliver, the SI's Chief Operating Officer. "We completed this complex effort seamlessly and in record time to ensure a smooth transition for our employees, our teammates, and our customers."
The SI is a leading provider of full life cycle, mission-focused systems engineering and integration services to the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and other agencies. Its scalable systems engineering platform for modeling, simulation and analysis helps customers baseline requirements, optimize resources and manage risk, and the company has 40 years of experience successfully delivering complex, system-of-systems technology solutions. The SI employs approximately 2,000 people, with major locations in Chantilly, Va.; Laurel, Md.; and Valley Forge, Pa. For more information, visit www.thesiorg.com.
