The Shade Store to Showcase New Custom Window Treatment Collections at Architectural Digest Design Show
New Designer Collections from Pendleton by Sunbrella and One Kings Lane to be Displayed Within a New Booth Design
PORT CHESTER, N.Y., March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Shade Store, a third generation family-run, leading resource for premium custom window treatments with a rich heritage in luxury textiles and interior design, will show at the Architectural Digest Design Show for the fourth time, March 22-25 in New York City at Pier 94. A variety of recent and upcoming product introductions, including the Pendleton by Sunbrella collection and the One Kings Lane for The Shade Store collection, will be displayed within a new booth design. Vignettes throughout the booth will display new offerings and bestsellers, including a wall of motorized window treatments, all demonstrating The Shade Store's leadership and authority in the custom window treatment and home décor space.
"We're continuing to push the envelope in the window treatment category with new brand offerings and partnerships," said Ian Gibbs, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Shade Store. "We've found great success at the Architectural Digest Design Show the last three years and are proud to present a new booth design that better showcases our new collections with engaging and inviting installations."
The Architectural Digest Design Show marks the first time the Pendleton by Sunbrella collection, which launched in February 2018, will be displayed in New York. The collection of drapery and Roman shades celebrates the shared appreciation between The Shade Store, Pendleton and Sunbrella for authenticity, artistry, and quality of process with signature Pendleton patterns and designs that have been adapted to the new materials with a fresh color palette for a contemporary look. Available in three patterns and 12 materials, the collection is made with high performance fabrics by Sunbrella that lend exceptional durability ideal for both private spaces and high traffic areas. The Shade Store first formed a partnership with Sunbrella in 2016 with the launch of the Sunbrella Ventana Collection and this new collaboration builds on the relationship and introduces Pendleton designs to the window treatment category for the first time.
The Shade Store booth will also introduce a first look at a collaboration with One Kings Lane, featuring the designs of in-house artisans from the luxury home décor and design services provider, launching in early April. The collection marks the entrée for One Kings Lane in the window treatment category and introduces unique embroidery offerings and textures to drapery and Roman shade offerings at The Shade Store. The patterns and designs, inspired by a variety of sources including vintage textiles and contemporary fashion, are meant to be layered and will work particularly well with décor from the One Kings Lane assortment.
The Shade Store has a rich heritage tracing its roots back to 1946 and a small fabric shop in Mount Vernon, New York. When the current generation came into adulthood, they undertook the objective of modernizing the way consumers shop for custom window treatments, 'making custom simple' with a groundbreaking business model. With these changes, The Shade Store has maintained an emphasis on craftsmanship and supports hundreds of skilled American artisans who hand-make premium custom window treatments in workrooms across the country. By specializing in a category that can be difficult to understand, The Shade Store has been able to grow to 59 showrooms nationwide with a strong online business – providing access to expertise previously held only by industry insiders.
The Shade Store's booth will be open throughout the Architectural Digest Design Show, March 22-25, 2018. The Shade Store will host a cocktail reception with Sunbrella during the trade day at the show Thursday, March 22 from 4:30PM – 6:30PM at The Shade Store booth #801. The following day, Friday, March 23, The Shade Store will host a second cocktail reception from 4:00PM – 6:00PM again in booth #801.
