Terry Goatley assumes privacy responsibilities for the company
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas, Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading provider of power mobility solutions, is pleased to announce that Terry Goatley has been appointed HIPAA Privacy Officer for the company. Goatley assumes HIPAA privacy responsibilities from Tom Hood, who retires this month after eight years of invaluable service with the company.
As the new HIPAA Privacy Officer, Goatley is responsible for maintaining and facilitating enforcement of the company's privacy programs, policies and practices. Goatley will act as the primary focal point for all privacy questions, issues, responses and improvement initiatives while collaborating with Jay Greene, Senior Vice President of Information Technology at The SCOOTER Store, who serves as the company's HIPAA Security Officer.

Terry Goatley joined The SCOOTER Store in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chaminade University in Honolulu, and Master of Science degrees in Management Systems from the University of Southern California and Computer Information Science from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He also has earned his Doctorate in Business Administration from RKC University (Zurich), EU-International in Switzerland.
Goatley holds a Certificate in HIPAA Compliance and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Healthcare Compliance Consultant (CHCC) and Certified Healthcare Compliance Officer (CHCO). In addition, he holds the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) designation from the Compliance Certification Board and the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) credential.
