Major Deborah Sedlar, Western Pennsylvania Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army, is pleased to announce that Charlie Batch, NFL quarterback, community advocate, author, and media personality will be the featured guest speaker at the organization's 2015 Allegheny County Doing the Most Good Dinner. Sponsored by PNC Bank, and to be held for the first time at Heinz Field in The East Club Lounge, the event will honor Paul Kress of EQT with the William Booth Award, Wendy's Restaurants with The Project Bundle Up Award, and UnitedHealthcare with the "Doing The Most Good" Award.
The Doing The Most Good Annual Dinner draws about 500 people each year to pay tribute to those in the Pittsburgh region who go above and beyond in their support of The Salvation Army. This event is a wonderful opportunity for The Salvation Army to showcase its programs and services to key community leaders during a very important time of year. At this year's event, those in attendance at the VIP reception will have the opportunity to take their picture with Pittsburgh Steelers' legend Franco Harris, and will be invited to participate in The Salvation Army's new social media campaign, "#RedKettleReason" as a kick off to its Christmas Season. Flick, Host of "Flick and Kelly", Afternoons on Star 100.7, and last year's recipient of the "Doing The Most Good" Award, will serve as the evening's master of ceremonies.
Both a church and a social service organization, The Salvation Army began in London, England in 1865. Today, it provides critical services in 127 countries worldwide. The 28-county Western Pennsylvania Division serves thousands of needy families through a wide variety of support services.
