KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rush Fitness Complex announced today that it will provide complimentary six-month memberships to immediate family members of deployed service members effective immediately. This initiative is a result of The Rush's membership in the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) Joining Forces Network, which supports First Lady Michelle Obama's Joining Forces and "Let's Move!" efforts.

Beginning now, immediate family members of currently deployed service members from any of the Rush Fitness Complex communities in Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, are invited to begin a complimentary six-month membership. The Rush member benefits include free childcare, free group exercise classes, a fitness consultation and more.
"Under the guidance of our trained professionals, these families will receive great healthy lifestyle advice and training in a supportive environment. Our entire staff is energized and excited to extend our services to these families. We can only imagine how stressful it must be to have a loved one so far from home, so we are honored to help with their health, happiness and stress relief in the way we know best," said CEO Steve Saxton.
Saxton also noted that The Rush Fitness Complex is particularly excited about the opportunity that these free memberships will provide for the deployed service members' teenage children, who will now have access to a supportive health club environment where they can learn about and implement a physically active lifestyle.
The IHRSA Joining Forces Network, an affiliation of health clubs offering free memberships to the immediate family members of actively deployed service members throughout the country, successfully merges the active lifestyle goals of "Let's Move!" with the desire to provide support and services to military families through Joining Forces. Michelle Obama first introduced the IHRSA Joining Forces Network in May 2011 at a health and wellness event for military families.
