The RoomPlace Donates $150,000 to Eskenazi Health
Furniture store name will be recognized on Sky Farm Trellis
INDIANAPOLIS, June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday, the Eskenazi Health Foundation announced a gift of $150,000 from The RoomPlace in support of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health campus, in addition to current Eskenazi Health programs.
"We are pleased to receive this generous gift from The RoomPlace," said Ernie Vargo II, CFRE, president and CEO of the Eskenazi Health Foundation. "The RoomPlace has always had a strong commitment to being active in the local community. We are very grateful to have their support."
The donation from The RoomPlace was recognized with the naming of The RoomPlace Sky Farm Trellis on June 13. The Sky Farm is located on the roof of the Eskenazi Health Outpatient Care Center on the main Eskenazi Health campus. It is available to patients, staff and the community as a space to engage with food, learn how it grows and how to prepare fresh produce and to foster a greater understanding of the importance of healthy eating.
"The RoomPlace believes in building stronger, more united communities and fostering progressive enhancement through our Community Care program," said Paul Adams, Chief Executive Officer of The RoomPlace. "Our partnership with Eskenazi Health is part of our ongoing commitment to help improve the lives of our customers and employees who live and work in the greater Indianapolis area and rely on health services like these."
Last month, The RoomPlace acquired a 170,000-square-foot building at 8301 E. Washington St., which will be used as a warehouse and showroom. The facility will serve as the primary distribution center for the Indianapolis market and will house the sixth RoomPlace showroom in the area. This new location will also house the corporate headquarters of The RoomPlace's rent-to-own retail division, EasyHome. Opening in late fall 2016, these new developments will provide over 100 new local job opportunities.
The RoomPlace has been proudly serving the Chicagoland and greater Indianapolis area since 1912 with stores that are committed to creating a shopping experience unlike any other, all while offering excellent service, a great selection of quality furniture, name brand mattresses and financing offers that really allows customers to "Get It All." The RoomPlace also supports a mission to bring awareness and support to the local communities where it operates and to foster relationships with community organizations where they operate.
Eskenazi Health Foundation has raised more than $87 million in support of the new Eskenazi Health campus. The 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation raises philanthropic support to enable Eskenazi Health to provide quality health care for all without exception.
