The Recruitment Platform Global Energy Career Expo heads north to Aberdeen in June 2013
LONDON, March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
The oil and gas industry has reached a critical juncture regarding its workforce. A considerable portion of the industry will move into retirement in the next few years, taking critical knowledge, skills and experience with them. We are, therefore, faced with a dilemma; as the industry continues to boom and new global projects unveiled, not only will more be demanded from the current workforce, but significant numbers will need to be added in order to secure the industry's future success.
To put this in context, the Global Energy Career Expo Aberdeen, taking place from 12-13 June 2013, has been created to fill the recognised skills gap in the oil and gas industry, by providing a crucial platform for jobseekers and recruiting companies to meet and discuss the latest offshore and onshore employment opportunities.
The Lead Event Partner is OilCareers.com, and organisations from across the oil and gas supply chain including Saudi Aramco, Technip and Transocean will use the Expo as the place to network and meet thousands of qualified professionals who are actively seeking recruitment opportunities.
The Expo also incorporates a two day conference that has a choice of streamed content for all attendees:
Theatre 1: Presentations
- Companies will reveal the latest employment opportunities within their business in the UK and overseas. Visitors will understand what to expect from prospective employers and have the opportunity to learn about the most competitive employment package.
Theatre 2: Focus on Personal and Workforce Development
- The Personal Development stream will provide valuable training sessions from leading industry associations including the Energy Institute and Hays Oil & Gas.
- The Workforce Development steam will include speakers from the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the HR Director, OilCareers.com and PwC. It will analyse the future of the industry's workforce from a range of perspectives, looking at human capital development, the role & importance of HR, and growing regional employment opportunities.
Over 2000 attendees are expected to join us at the Global Energy Career Expo, as the search for top talent in the oil and gas industry intensifies in an environment that will enrich recruitment strategy and provide the next step in career development.
