The Protocol School of Washington Celebrates National Business Etiquette Week by asking, "What will business etiquette look like in 2025?"
WASHINGTON, June 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Is checking your new smartwatch during a business meeting considered rude? Is there a dress code for videoconference calls? Does a LinkedIn message of gratitude express the same sentiment as a handwritten thank you note? These and other questions are coming up more and more as technology continues to alter accepted forms of business etiquette and protocol. "As the business world redefines the new rules of etiquette, it's important to understand the changing landscape of accepted practices now and into the future," says Pamela Eyring, President and Owner of The Protocol School of Washington.
As a sponsor of National Business Etiquette Week (June 7-13), the Protocol School of Washington is an international thought leader on business etiquette and protocol as they relate to modern technologies. "Technology challenges the most basic forms of etiquette in today's business world," said Eyring. "Companies must evolve to accept modern trends while upholding traditional forms of etiquette such as mutual respect, office decorum and interpersonal skills."
In looking to the future, the Protocol School of Washington is sponsoring a video contest, where entrants can upload their answers to the following question: What will business etiquette look like in 2025?
Entries will be judged on imagination and speculative thoughts on technology and how it will continue to affect business etiquette in the next ten years. The selected winner will be given a complimentary tuition to one of the PSOW's ongoing offerings, "Train to be a Corporate Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant." To enter, please review the full set of rules at http://bit.ly/1cAJ65i and upload your video at http://bit.ly/1cYDItN.
