PITTSBURGH, Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sharon Walsh, editor of PublicSource, will bring Press Club of Western Pennsylvania members and guests up to date on the progress the independent, nonprofit news group has made as it focuses on original investigative reporting about critical issues facing Pittsburgh and the Western Pennsylvania region. She'll explain the site's mission, how it operates and how it is working with other media partners. As the future of journalism unfolds and continues to shift, this new model is growing throughout the nation, and Walsh will address what lies ahead here in Pittsburgh and beyond.
PublicSource operates under the administrative umbrella of Pittsburgh Filmmakers, a nonprofit designed to encourage the creation and understanding of media arts. The news organization received its initial funding through grants from The Pittsburgh Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, with additional support from The Heinz Endowments and the R.K. Mellon Foundation.
Luncheon reservations are required with payment. Press Club members and students are $20; nonmembers $25. Tables of 10 cost $200.
