The Practising Law Institute Debuts the Pocket MBA eMentor
New tool teaches attorneys the basics of finance and accounting
NEW YORK, July 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Practising Law Institute (PLI), the nation's largest producer of continuing legal education, has recently released a new learning tool designed to supplement the legal professional's understanding of accounting and finance: the Pocket MBA eMentor.
The Pocket MBA eMentor divides the three books in PLI's popular Pocket MBA series into seventy interactive modules that provide information on key accounting, financial, and economic terminology and concepts that figure prominently in business dealings. Topics in three core areas — financial statements, company valuation, and dealmaking/M&A — are broken down into bite-size segments and explained and illustrated through a video presentation and accompanying text.
The eMentor's dual-coded presentation of the material helps associates and other professionals who may lack a formal business background to retain information while fleshing out a greater understanding of finance. Rather than relying on web searches or textbooks, the eMentor allows users to access the entire database for use as both a quick reference and an overarching training tool.
The eMentor is available to law firms and companies through a group license, and can be accessed either through installation behind a firm's firewall, or via the PLI website. A full list of topics and a demo of the Pocket MBA eMentor is available here.
