The Points Guy Announces First Ever Award Ceremony Featuring The Best In Travel And Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger
Categories, Nominees and Winners will be Chosen with a Seal of Approval from The Points Guy as well as TPG Editorial Staff and Readers
NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, The Points Guy (TPG), a leading travel and lifestyle media platform, announced it will host the inaugural TPG Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, December 4th aboard The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan. The inaugural awards show will honor the very best in loyalty, travel and credit cards. Winners will be selected by Brian Kelly (aka The Points Guy) along with his editorial team, and readers will be invited to vote for the Readers' Choice categories online.
During the show, Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger will be honored with the Hero Award for his courage and bravery and will accept the award a few weeks ahead of the 10th anniversary of his heroic water-landing of an A320 on the Hudson River. The Points Guy team will present this honor to him on a World War II aircraft carrier floating on the same body of water where the captain saved 155 passengers' lives in 2009.
Leading up to the awards in December, TPG will announce a string of surprises, including a live performance by a special musical guest, to be unveiled closer to the event.
"It has been a long time dream of mine to create an award show that celebrates the best in loyalty, travel and credit cards," says TPG CEO and Founder Brian Kelly. "This show will embody everything TPG represents: helping travelers get the most value for their points and money, while highlighting the brands that actually make travel enjoyable."
