PHILADELPHIA, June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Parking Spot, the nation's largest owner and operator of near-airport parking properties, will introduce a second facility with 1,663 parking spaces at Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday, June 15.
Located at 7601 Essington Avenue, across the street from The Parking Spot's first Philadelphia location, this second property includes 1,252 covered spaces under a full-covered canopy. This canopy is a "warehouse without walls" as it encompasses the entire covered area. The property also features 411 uncovered spaces.
"Before The Parking Spot opened its new facility, there were very few choices for canopy-covered spaces in the Philadelphia market," said Kevin Shrier, president and chief executive officer of The Parking Spot. "We heard feedback, not only from our own guests but also from the broader market, that there was a void when it came to covered parking. With a full canopy, both the spaces and the aisles are covered, allowing travelers to stay cooler in the summer and be protected from the elements during periods of rain and snow."
The Parking Spot began operating an existing parking facility in 2015 and subsequently expanded, upgraded and rebranded it as "The Parking Spot 2" in May of 2016. The upgrades were recently completed with the construction of the full-covered canopy.
The opening of the new facility adds more than thirty jobs to the market, bringing The Parking Spot's total employment in Philadelphia close to 100 jobs. For more information on the new Philadelphia facility, please visit The Parking Spot's website.
