The Paces Foundation Gifts Equity and Transfers Ownership of Clover Bridge, a $3.8 Million Special Needs Affordable Housing Development, to View Point Health
The Grand Opening Event to be held Wed., March 25, 2015
ATLANTA, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hope starts with supportive affordable housing where counselors can help those at risk of chronic homelessness gain employment training and watch for trouble signs of depression or relapse before they escalate and potentially drain hospitals, police, and court systems.
The Paces Foundation and its partners hope to spread the word about how special needs housing gives people the step up they need to succeed ultimately benefitting the entire community. Those with special needs in behavioral health areas require total health solutions with integrated care coordination. These special communities provide independent living with the support of behavioral, addictive, and developmental disability professionals to help foster productive community integration. Without the proper support, this population is at risk of homelessness and chronic crisis.
Typically ownership of affordable housing properties, like Clover Bridge, remains with the developer of the property. The Paces Foundation is a nonprofit affordable housing developer and is gifting the equity and transferring ownership of the $3.8 million dollar property funded by HUD HOME and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to View Point Health. View Point Health helps individuals with special needs challenges achieve their highest level of skill development, independence and health. The site offers 28 one-bedroom units as well as shared community rooms. Other states are already interested in duplicating the model, which combats homelessness and helps reduce health care costs via preventive measures.
Tours of the property will follow the grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting. Come learn why Georgia needs more communities like Clover Bridge.
