The Overnight Walk to Fight Suicide in San Diego - Press Registration Opens

SAN DIEGO, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk is the largest annual fundraising event held by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Participants from across the country will walk more than 16 miles from sunset until sunrise to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention in San Diego. Money raised from this event supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention which funds research, offers education programs, advocates for public policy, and supports those affected by suicide. DATE: May 20-21, 2017

TIME: 7:30 – 8:00 p.m. – Opening ceremony begins (Saturday)
8:01 p.m. – 16 mile walk begins (Saturday)
5:15 a.m. – Closing ceremony begins (Sunday)

WHERE: Ruocco Park
585 Harbor Lane
San Diego, CA 92101

WALK ROUTE: Highlights include: Petco Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Balboa Park, Hillcrest, Star of India, USS Midway, and the Maritime Museum of San Diego.

ATTENDEES: People who have lost someone to suicide, who have attempted suicide, and those who want to prevent suicide.
