COLUMBIA, Mo., Aug. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Alabama-based, The Orthopaedic Group P.C. has chosen to partner with Universal Research Solutions (a.k.a. OBERD) in an effort to improve patient outcomes through automated outcomes data collection. TOG will also use OBERD's Musculoskeletal and Quality of Life Registries to compare outcomes across nationwide data sets.
The Orthopaedic Group's commitment to providing specialized, evidence-based orthopaedic care aligns with OBERD's expertise in musculoskeletal outcomes data collection. OBERD's registries provide large data sets for benchmarking, research, and quality improvement initiatives. Its family of musculoskeletal registries has been established, based on procedure, under specific platforms including: hip & knee; hand and wrist; foot and ankle; spine; and sports medicine.
OBERD is also a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) and can be used for PQRS reporting direct to CMS. OBERD has defined a unique set of orthopaedic measures that assist in PQRS reporting for those specialties. This data is collected effortlessly in the background as part of the normal workflow.
"Our practice is committed to putting patients first," said Patrick Page, CEO/CFO of The Orthopaedic Group P.C. "To ensure our patients receive the best care possible, we seek to leverage the latest research and tools. National Registries are one of these tools. With OBERD registries we can compare clinical outcomes across national data pools to identify areas where we can improve care."
The Orthopaedic Group P.C. will use OBERD to achieve the following institutional goals:
- Utilize benchmarking to ensure patients are recovering effectively in comparison to national norms
- Improve outcomes and the overall patient experience by leveraging data for evidence-based care
- Meet government-mandated quality of care reporting initiatives (Meaningful Use and PQRS)
