The Only US Competency-Based Competition for Clinical Researchers Opens for Entry
LONDON, January 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With US domestic research under increasing competition from overseas, recognition and celebration of high quality standards for US professionals is vital in the battle to secure clinical trials.
Now a high-level group representing a host of top pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations is encouraging all US clinical researchers to enter a competition whose aim is to raise the importance and profile of the country's clinical research talent.
This is the only competency-based competition for research professionals in the US and it is open to clinical research associates, study trial managers, clinical research coordinators and clinical teams. Last year Kforce/Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, i3 Research and Benchmark Research took the crown across four competition categories - now is the time to step up to the plate and show the industry just how good you are.
Joanne Godman, Director, Training & Communications, Shire Pharmaceuticals , and member of the PharmaTimes US Clinical Researcher Executive Steering Committee says: "The competition will be judged by individuals who have a vested interest in the continued growth and development of people who participate in the management of clinical trials."
"Our goal is to give you the opportunity to be recognized for the work you do on a daily basis to improve the lives of patients. If you want to continue to grow and develop within the clinical arena, participating in this competition will provide you with the opportunity to see how you compare with some of the best in your field. It also looks really good on your resume."
As this year's winner of New CRA/Site Manager of the Year 2010, Jennifer Worrell of Kforce/Pfizer, confirms: "Taking part in the PharmaTimes US Clinical Researcher competition was one of the most rewarding things I have done. Finding out that I was one of the finalists was a fantastic surprise and very affirming to me. It is always good to challenge yourself and the competition is a wonderful learning opportunity."
PharmaTimes US Clinical Researcher is the only competition to acknowledge the special mix of technical and interpersonal skills that mark you out as an outstanding clinical researcher. Winners will be recognized on stage at a glittering gala evening hosted at Shire Pharmaceuticals in Wayne, Pennsylvania on 7 April, 2011.
