ALAMEDA, Calif., March 3. 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Face today released "Little Expeditions" to highlight the opening of 2016 Explore Fund grant applications, and the tiny adventurer in all of us. The short film follows two-year-old Sonny exploring his surroundings from the streets of Los Angeles, to spectacular coastal views and his first snow in the San Gabriel Mountains. Sonny's dad, former pro-skateboarder Colin Kennedy, shot running alongside at Sonny at eye-level to capture the curiosity we are all born with and the novelty of seemingly everyday objects.
Applications are now open for The North Face 2016 Explore Fund grant-giving program through April 5, 2016. This year, $500,000 will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that connect people to the outdoors in meaningful ways. To celebrate the National Park Service Centennial, The North Face is encouraging organizations to activate their programs in national parks and has earmarked $250,000 of the total grant funding in support of organizations that activate in these parks.
