The News Conference of the 400th Anniversary of Tang Xianzu's Death Commemorative Event was Held in Beijing
BEIJING, China, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The news conference of the 400th anniversary of Tang Xianzu's death commemorative event which was led by the government of Jiangxi province and supported by the government of Fuzhou city and Jiangxi provincial department of culture was held in Beijing Great Hall of the People on March 22.
Tang Xianzu, the Oriental Shakespeare,was born in Linchuan Town, Fuzhou city, Jiangxi province in 1550 and died in 1616. He was a great dramatist, writer and ideologist in the Ming Dynasty. His four legendary works The Peony Pavilion, Record of Handan, Record of Southern Bough and The Purple Hairpin which collectively referred to as Linchuan Four Dreams were on behalf of the peak for the creation of Chinese classical drama.
This year is the 400th anniversary of his death and it is also the 400th anniversary of the great British dramatist Shakespeare and Spanish great writer Cervantes. China, UK and Spain will carry out the cultural exchange and a series of commemorative activities.
