NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Institute of Culinary Education and the New York Jets today announce Season Two of The Official Jets Cooking School, after a record sellout of the 2013 season. This exclusive series of gameday cooking classes gives fans a chance to step up their tailgating game with lessons from ICE's team of all-pro chefs—all while watching their favorite game on Monday or Thursday Night Football. Plus, fans will have a rare opportunity to meet and cook alongside current and former Jets players. The series is presented by Chase.
"I'm very excited to team up with ICE for a second season of the Jets Cooking School," said New York Jets Offensive Lineman Willie Colon. "This year's classes will be bigger and better and will help Jets fans take their tailgating to the next level. I look forward to working with ICE's outstanding chefs and the amazing fans that participate to help make these delicious recipes. "
"Food and football are a perfect match, making this the ideal partnership to teach fans how to ramp up their game day experience with top notch food," said Rick Smilow, president of the Institute of Culinary Education. "Last year's class series was a huge success, every class sold out, and we can't wait to teach a new season of "fan chefs" to take their gridiron meals to the next level with recipes, lessons and tips from ICE's top chefs."
New to this season, all class attendees will receive the ICE Exclusive VIP Jets Experience, including a once in a lifetime behind-the-scenes tour of MetLife Stadium, gameday home to the New York Jets. The tour includes a visit to the stadium's premium spaces, including the field, press box, Jets team locker room and more.
This year's class roster includes:
- Deep Dish Pizza and Smokin' Hot Dogs: Thursday, September 18 at 7pm at ICE
Inspired by the New York Jets taking on the Chicago Bears on September 22, fans will learn the classics of deep dish pizza to grilled Chicago-style hot dogs. Plus an insider lesson on making hot dogs from scratch, homemade hot dog fixings and apple crumb pie doughnuts. - Everything Wings & Beer: Thursday, October 16 at 7pm at ICE
ICE turns its 12th floor into an all-green sports bar to watch the Jets take on the New England Patriots. What's better with football than wings and beer? Fans will learn to craft the ultimate wing bar – from beer-battered to smothered in buffalo sauce and beyond – and tips to shake up the perfectly paired beer cocktail to wash it all down. - Thanksgiving with a Tailgate Twist: Monday, November 17 at 8pm at ICE
Looking to take the Thanksgiving day tailgate to the next level? Learn to deep fry that turkey! Plus, learn to elevate those traditional Thanksgiving sides – with dishes like cornbread bread pudding, the new green bean casserole and pumpkin tiramisu – with current Jets players. - Tailgate Tennessee-Style with Southern Comfort Classics: Monday, December 8 at 7pm at ICE
As the Jets prepare to take on the Tennessee Titans on December 15, fans will learn to prepare the ultimate Southern Comfort classics for the game. From shrimp and grits to the perfect fried chicken and more, Jets players will help their "gang green" bring the dishes to the end zone. - Flavors of the AFC East: Saturday, January 31 at 1pm at MetLife Stadium
Join ICE and the Jets on a culinary tour to conquer the flavors of the AFC East: Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and, of course, the New York Jets. Fans will choose their favorite competitor and learn to craft their hometown classics hands-on, alongside Jets personalities all inside the Jets' home turf, complete with a front row view of the field. - ICE's Exclusive VIP Jets Experience: Saturday, January 31 at 5pm at MetLife Stadium
Fans who attend any class during the season will receive the ICE VIP Jets Experience, including a once in a lifetime behind-the-scenes tour of MetLife Stadium, gameday home to the New York Jets.
