The New Kansas Online Learning Program Now Enrolling for the 2010-2011 School Year

LOST SPRINGS, Kan., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kansas Online Learning Program is proud to announce that it has been approved by the Kansas Department of Education to offer a statewide, online learning program for students, beginning this fall. The Kansas Online Learning Program is currently enrolling students for the upcoming school year, both online at www.kansasonlinelearning.org and at enrollment events being held throughout the state.
Powered by the Centre School District, the Kansas Online Learning Program is a public school option open to all Kansas students in kindergarten through 12th grade. KOLP offers students an innovative, effective educational experience while utilizing state-of-the-art technology, an interactive and engaging curriculum, and the guidance and support of highly qualified, Kansas-certified instructors.

The Kansas Online Learning Program features the nation's leading online curriculum, Lincoln Interactive. Used by thousands of students worldwide, Lincoln Interactive offers more than 250 courses, allowing students to personalize their education based on their wants and needs. And Lincoln Interactive's utilization of 21st century technology—interactive videos, games, 3-D graphics, social rooms, language labs, and flash animation—provides an innovative learning experience for all students.
In addition to the nationally certified curriculum, Kansas Online Learning Program students receive a printer and scanner, and are paired with a Student Learning Advocate who will work with each child individually to ensure their learning experience fits their learning style. The Kansas Online Learning Program prides itself on putting each student at the center of their education.
The Kansas Online Learning Program will hold host several enrollment sessions through the month of August:
- August 5 in Council Grove at the Council Grove Public Library (829 W Main St.) from 12-1 p.m.
- August 5 in Abilene at the Central Kansas Free Fair (619 N Rogers St.) from 6-9 p.m.
- August 9 in Junction City at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library (230 West Seventh St.) from 12-1 p.m.
- August 9 in Manhattan at the Manhattan Public Library (629 Poyntz Ave.) from 4-5 p.m.
- August 15 in Fort Riley at the Fort Riley Base (208 Custer Ave.) from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
