IRVING, Texas, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) will be hosting its 2013 Founders Gala & Brillante Awards on October 12, 2013 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas with presenting sponsor, Chrysler Group LLC.

The evening's proceeds will continue to benefit NSHMBA's scholarship fund. Over 350 Fortune 500 executives and NSHMBA special guests will be in attendance to celebrate the honorees and the accomplishments of the organization's 25-year history.
The gala will be the closing celebration of the NSHMBA Annual Conference & Career Expo. NSHMBA founding members Henry O. Hernandez, Jr. and Maggie Pena will serve as the evening's host and hostess, alongside Special Guest and Emcee of the 2013 Brillante Awards, Nadine Velazquez. Nadine played the role of Catalina Arcura, the stripper/maid with a heart of gold on the popular TV series My Name Is Earl on NBC. She is presently on TNT's #1 Drama Series, Major Crimes as DDA Emma Rios, and also recurs on two other TV shows: FX's fantasy football series, The League as well as BET's Real Husbands Of Hollywood with actor Kevin Hart. Her latest films include Robert Zemekis' film, Flight with Denzel Washington, Snitch with Dwayne Johnson and next year starring in her first romantic comedy lead in Pantalion Film's Aztec Warrior with Luis Guzman and Eugenio Derbez.
The winner of the Brillante Award for Corporate Excellence will be announced at the event –candidates are Dell Inc. and Nationwide Insurance. The Brillante Award winner for Education Excellence is the The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The Brillante Award winner for Community Service Excellence is Mr. Carlos Orta, and this year a special Brillante Award will be given posthumously to Mr. Dan Verches. The Founders Award winners are Mr. Bill Valle, Ms. Monica Lozano, and former San Antonio mayor Henry Cisneros. Mr. Cisneros will also be the keynote speaker at this event.
