WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Park Foundation announced the appointment of three new directors to its board. The appointments were made by Secretary of the Interior and National Park Foundation Board Chair Ken Salazar. Jeremy Jaech, Roxanne Quimby, David Shaw will join the NPF Board, providing additional expertise to the Foundation as it executes its mission to strengthen the connection between the American people and their national parks.

Jeremy Jaech leads Verdiem's corporate development and strategy as its CEO. He was also co-founder and CEO of Visio, which was acquired by Microsoft Corporation in 2000. Jeremy began his entrepreneurial path by co-founding Aldus Corporation in 1984, which was acquired by Adobe in 1994.
Jeremy has contributed as a scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory operated by the Battelle Memorial Institute. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington.
Roxanne Quimby, known for her eco-friendly personal-care product line Burt's Bees, is also a passionate protector of Maine's northern and coastal forests. Her non-profit foundation, Elliotsville Plantation Inc., has bought and conserved approximately 120,000 acres of wild lands in Maine Woods at risk of or already damaged by logging for timber. The foundation focuses on creating a landscape of protected preserves and works to restore native plant and animal species such as the wolf, lynx and salmon.
David E. Shaw is General Partner of Black Point Group. He has been active in building successful entrepreneurial businesses and supporting a number of non-profit causes/organizations. He is the founder and retired CEO of IDEXX Laboratories, the founding CEO and chair of Ikaria Holdings, a director of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, a director of Sapphire Energy, chair of Direct Vet Marketing, former chair of The Jackson Laboratory, treasurer of the American Assoc. for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and active in many other organizations.
