The National Association of Professional Child Photographers announces 2018 Photographer of the Year
Organization unveils recipient of coveted award along with February 2018 Image Competition winners
ATLANTA, Feb. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Child Photographers proudly announces Tracy Sweeney, of Elan Studio, as the 2018 Photographer of the Year. This top honor was determined by total number of points scored from both of the organization's International Image Competitions. Recognized for attention to detail, artistic composition and imaginative perspective, Sweeney specializes in child, family and commercial photography and has work featured on the Hallmark Channel, The UK Daily News and People.com.
Sweeney was a guest speaker at the January NAPCP Summit and will have her second-place photo "Color Me Bold" featured in Times Square. Each year, she teaches thousands of photographers through distinguished platforms, such as KelbyOne and Click Photo School, as well as the industry's leading conferences.
The organization is also pleased to announce the winners from both 2018 NAPCP International Image Competitions. With eight featured categories in the digital competition – Maternity, Newborn, Baby, Child, Toddler, Senior, Sibling and Family, and three creative categories for the print competition – Color, Water and Explore – submissions are judged on composition, creativity, impact and technical merit by a panel of field experts. This year's competitions received more than 700 submissions from NAPCP members across the globe.
Each of the 11 winners from both the digital and print NAPCP International Image Competitions exemplify photography's transformation into an international language. In addition to professional recognition, winners capture priority listing in the NAPCP Member Directory, a medallion, vendor endorsements and NAPCP member points.
The complete list of first-place winners is as follows:
• Baby: Kristine Crow for "Not Quite One" |
• Siblings: Melissa Zimmer for "Never Let Me Go" |
