  • Create your own screenprints of Dr. Martin Luther King as well as Jazz Greats (Education Center)
  • View the film "King: Montgomery to Memphis" (Heritage Center)

What is Your Dream? National Day of Service – MLK Day (FREE Admission)
  • Free admission to the museum and free programming throughout the day
  • Chalk drawing on the sidewalk in front of the museum and a "What is Your Dream?" Visionboard project (MoAD Education Center)
  • The ABBDJ Artist's Collective jewelry making and art sales (Celebration Theatre)
  • Films (King and the Civil Rights Movement) will show continuously (Wells Fargo Heritage Center)
  • Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Fair with representatives from various HBCUs and Scholarmatch.org. (2p – 5p)
  • HBCU Tours will present information about the HBCUs and how to tour the various campuses  (2p - 3p)
  • Book presentation: Author Rose Watson, Purposeful Parenting: Strategies for Raising Children Who Achieve, followed by a book signing.
  • Afro-Latin rhythms of Bobi Cespedes (4p-5pm | MoAD Salon)

Presented in conjunction with the San Francisco Interfaith Council and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. These MLK MoAD free admission days are made possible by a donation from The Clorox Company.

The Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) showcases the history, art and the cultural richness that resulted from the dispersal of Africans throughout the African Diaspora through innovative and engaging exhibitions, education and public programs.
