SEATTLE, Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --thePlatform, the leading white-label video publishing company, today announced that it has been selected to provide the back-end video management for Astral Television Networks' newly launched The Movie Network (TMN) GO, HBO GO® Canada and TMN Encore GO streaming service in Eastern Canada. TMN GO will use thePlatform's "TV Everywhere" (TVE) solution to enable subscribers to catch-up and watch more of their favorite premium television programming across PCs, tablets and smartphones.
The Movie Network is a pay television service that offers Eastern Canadians premiere access to Hollywood hit movies, new and exclusive HBO® content, critically acclaimed Showtime® series and first-rate Canadian programming. Subscribers can now stream on-demand this popular content to their iOS devices via the newly launched TMN GO service. The TMN GO service will carry programs seen on The Movie Network and multiplex offerings HBO Canada and TMN Encore.
thePlatform's cloud-based, mpx video management system will serve as the central aggregation hub for collecting, protecting, and publishing video to TMN GO across devices. The system will also authorize TMN GO access, based on a user's paid TV subscription through participating Canadian cable or satellite providers.
