The Mosaic Company to Host First Responder Emergency Response Final Competition with Phosphate Plant and Mine Teams

WHAT:
The Mosaic Company is hosting its fifth annual First Responder Finalist Competition to hone and demonstrate company emergency preparedness and response skills.

WHO:  
Crews from Mosaic Phosphate and Potash mine and manufacturing facilities in Florida and Michigan will compete in simulated crisis scenarios to secure the coveted designation as Mosaic's top First Responder team. They have already qualified for the finals by coming out on top in four preliminary competitions held earlier this year.

The exercise will feature a panel of judges from local emergency response agencies to observe and critique the First Responder teams.

WHY:
The competition is designed to improve Mosaic first responder skills in the event of a real emergency. Skill stations like Hazmat handling, rope rescues and spinal immobilization give teams the ability to demonstrate their proficiencies and pick up points to secure the top spot. Mosaic has a total of 340 first responders who are available 24/7 in shifts at its mining and manufacturing facilities in Florida and Michigan. "Safety is Mosaic's highest priority," said Gary N.
