The MIL Corporation Celebrates 30 Years
Maryland based organization has delivered professional management and technical support solutions to the Federal government since 1980
BOWIE, Md., Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The MIL Corporation (MIL), an organization that provides the Federal government with financial, quality assurance, and information technology-management services, is pleased to announce the celebration of its 30th anniversary.
Established in 1980, MIL began as a small business that signed its first contracts with the U.S. Department of Energy. Since then, the organization has successfully competed for multiyear, multimillion dollar contracts with 17 Federal agencies, including the U.S. Departments of the Navy, Commerce, State, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, and Agriculture.
MIL was founded by its current president, Maurice (Butch) I. Long, and executive vice president, James C. McIntyre. Headquartered in Bowie, MD, Mr. Long heads up the technical and project management of all corporate research and analysis projects while Mr. McIntyre is responsible for the overall management, technical direction, and contract administrations for MIL.
"When Jim and I left our jobs back in 1980 to start MIL, we wanted to create a company that would become a best value government contractor, where people make the difference," said Mr. Long. "I can say with great confidence that our company is exactly what we envisioned. We are excited to be a competitive organization that provides innovative solutions for the Federal government."
Since the beginning, MIL has been committed to providing high-quality, on-site professional services to its clients. MIL now employs over 450 professionals throughout Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, California, and Colorado. MIL continues to expand its footprint through a new C4I division, which successfully ventured into the communications, command, and control business providing design engineering, integration, and life cycle support on all DoD based C4I systems. Based in Patuxent River, MD, the group currently supports NAVAIR, SOCOM, and other DoD based organizations.
"We couldn't have had the success MIL has experienced without our greatest asset -- our people," said Mr. McIntyre. "We truly value our employees. It's their hard work and dedication that got us where we are today -- they are the ones who are continuously exceeding our customers' expectations."
Today, MIL has become a highly successful enterprise with revenues above $70 million. Its staff continues to work on many projects of national importance for its early customers as well as new agencies.
