The Mariner Group Wins Again With "Most Notable Seaport Security Solution" Award

COLUMBIA, S.C., Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Government Security News (GSN) recognized The Mariner Group as the Most Notable Seaport Security Solution in this year's Airport, Seaport, & Border Security Awards Program. The Awards program covers security initiatives completed within the past 12 months in categories ranging from Access Control to Underwater Surveillance and Integrated Security Programs.

The GSN Awards acknowledge exceptional programs and technologies for security at airports, seaports and borders.  Mariner's submission described how CommandBridge—their situation awareness platform — challenges traditional security methods by emphasizing the importance of context. This contradicts the common misconception that simply adding extra sensors results in increased awareness.  While this method broadens the amount of information available, it does little to contribute to a decision maker's ability to truly understand and act on the information that is collected. 

The Port of New Orleans, one of Mariner's customers, has also taken top honors as the Best Integrated Harbor Security Program in a joint submission with the New Orleans Fire Department. The submission featured CommandBridge as the central component of their overall solution. The winners will be receiving their awards onboard the Mariner III yacht in New York City this week.
