ATLANTA, Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of the new Stay Giant™ campaign, the Brawny® Brand set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title yesterday for the "Largest Gathering of People Wearing Plaid" at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. This record was set in partnership with the Atlanta Falcons and 1,146 participants, who dressed in the brand's signature plaid and came together on the Georgia Dome field after the Falcon's football game.
The event also celebrated the announcement of a $50,000 donation by the maker of Brawny to Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), an organization that helps wounded servicemen and women adjust to civilian life and persevere through the visible and invisible injuries of war. For nearly four years, the maker of Brawny has been a proud partner of WWP, donating more than $2 million to the organization to support veterans and servicemen and women injured in the line of duty.
"Our Stay Giant™ campaign is about celebrating the power of communities and the resilience of Americans in overcoming life's daily challenges," said Gary Gastel, director of Brawny Paper Towels. "This event provided a fun opportunity to not only come together as a community, but to honor some of the most inspiring giants out there – our wounded service members and their families and caregivers."
Prior to the game, the Brawny brand team created a special fan experience to showcase the new campaign, which recently introduced new packaging featuring more sheets on every roll versus the leading national brand with comparable roll and sheet size and reintroduced a larger than life version of The Brawny Man® to the marketplace. Fans had the opportunity to take part in tailgating games, pose in pictures with The Brawny Man, enter to win prizes and learn more about WWP.
"The commitment to honoring members of the Wounded Warrior Project is truly inspiring, and I was grateful to participate in yesterday's event," said Airborne Ranger Captain Bobby Woods, who accepted the check on behalf of WWP. "The Brawny team knows the true meaning of tough, and we are thankful to partner with a brand that truly supports and celebrates our servicemen and women across the country."
