The Louis DeJoy And Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship Established At IWP

WASHINGTON, July 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thanks to a $1 million grant from The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation, The Institute of World Politics has established The Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship. The Foundation grant is the result of the extraordinary generosity of Louis DeJoy and Aldona Woś of North Carolina. Ambassador Woś serves on IWP's Board of Trustees. The Scholarship will support tuition costs of exceptional students at IWP who demonstrate financial need.

The scholarship will provide up to full tuition per semester, and decisions regarding the scholarship will be made by the IWP Scholarship Committee, comprised of full-time IWP faculty members.  Successful applicants will be recent college graduates who demonstrate significant academic, professional, or personal achievement, as well as a history of leadership or potential for leadership, an overall potential to succeed in IWP's rigorous course of study, and an appreciation of the IWP mission.

An average of $100,000 in scholarships from this fund will be awarded each year for ten years, and the first scholarships will be awarded to students who are beginning classes in fall 2017.

Recipients will be expected to succeed academically, be active members of the IWP community, and be dedicated to the spirit of service and civic duty.
