The Long Wait Is Over! Fan-Favorite Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival Returns This Friday Through Sunday
New and Expanded Experiences in Store as Southern Living Presents Award-Winning Coastal Festival Sept. 14-16
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga., Sept. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- For a weekend full of mouthwatering bites and fun times for the entire family, head to the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival, presented by Southern Living, this Friday through Sunday.
As the largest event in the Golden Isles, the Shrimp & Grits Festival regularly draws about 40,000 visitors eager to get more than just a taste of the classic coastal dish. In addition to a weekend of tantalizing tastes, festivalgoers cannot miss the exhibits and entertainment that fill more than 30 acres within the Jekyll Island National Historic Landmark District. With something to appeal to everyone in the family, it's not surprising this event has been named "Best Festival" by the Southeast Festivals and Events Association – and the 2018 edition is sure to impress once again.
After Hurricane Irma forced the cancellation of last year's event, the festival returns better than ever, with even more delicious food – including plenty of shrimp and grits – and all new experiences.
"We are thrilled with the return of our annual Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival," said Meggan Hood, Jekyll Island Authority senior director of marketing. "This event means so much to the Golden Isles community, and it has an impact on local businesses and regional vendors. Everyone is excited excited for it to come back, bigger and better than ever."
