The Lindley Group Adopts Centerplate Name
Centerplate Rebrands Its UK Division To Move Forward As A Single Global Brand
STAMFORD, Conn. and LONDON, Dec. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the leading event hospitality partner to sports stadiums, entertainment venues and convention centers across North America and the United Kingdom, today announced that with immediate effect, its UK division, The Lindley Group, will be adopting the name and brand identity of Centerplate.
The name change and re-branding comes eight months after Centerplate, North America's leading event hospitality partner, acquired The Lindley Group business in April. Since that time, the leadership has been working to craft a seamless and fully-integrated transition sharing best practices and enhancing operations across borders. The decision to re-brand comes in part from interest from current and prospective clients in the company's strengthened position within the live event market. Combined, the new company will serve more than 115 million guests annually across more than 350 venues worldwide.
"This is an exciting period of unprecedented growth for the Centerplate hospitality brand," said Des Hague, President and CEO of Centerplate. "This new position reinforces our identity as a global hospitality brand and allows for continued expansion across the United Kingdom as a single, unified company focused on delivering excellence and driving returns for our clients in the United Kingdom and beyond."
According to Adam Elliott, who will continue to head operations as President of Centerplate's UK division, "Since becoming a Centerplate hospitality partner, the growth of the business has accelerated and we have benefited from having the backing and credentials of a highly-regarded global operator. Being able to draw on Centerplate's wealth of experience as North America's leading event hospitality partner has been invaluable in recently securing a seven year catering and hospitality deal with ACC Liverpool."
The transition marks the start of a new era for the UK catering and hospitality business, which began operating as a sports stadia caterer from its Stoke-on-Trent base in 1968. The growing company will also be moving its headquarters to Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent on December 16.
