The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Kicks off the 2014 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year Campaign
Community Leaders throughout the North Bay Area Assemble to Join LLS in the Fight against Blood Cancers
SANTA ROSA, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Greater Bay Area Chapter is launching its 2014 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) fundraising campaign, enlisting influential and compassionate community leaders as candidates competing to raise funds for blood cancer research and cures. In its second year, the North Bay MWOY campaign has seven candidates vying for the title of Man and Woman of the Year.
The MWOY campaign is an annual 10-week fundraising competition between community leaders united by one goal, to use their leadership skills to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives. This year's Boy & Girl of the Year are Jared and Itzel, respectively, who are both from Napa, Calif., and are battling blood cancer. Every dollar counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of the campaign.
The 2014 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year candidates include:
Jennifer Buffo of Petaluma, Calif. – Pure Luxury Limousine
Sophie Edwards of Rohnert Park, Calif. – Sonoma State University
