The Latino Coalition's Legislative Summit to Feature U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta and Senator Orrin Hatch
WASHINGTON, Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On March 7, The Latino Coalition (TLC), the nation's leading non-partisan advocacy organization representing Hispanic businesses and consumers, will host U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta and Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) as featured speakers during its Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C.
The highly-anticipated event will bring together hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives, and elected officials to discuss the public policy issues that matter most to Hispanic business owners and leaders.
"For years, the small-business community was discouraged by its leaders in Washington, D.C., and our economy struggled as a result. Recently, there has been a resurgence in optimism in the entrepreneurial sector, which is now unleashing the best of the best and once again making their uniquely powerful economic contribution: jobs," said Hector Barreto, TLC's Chairman and former U.S. Small Business Administrator.
"For this job creation and economic growth to endure, small businesses must continue to win and be heard," Barreto continued. "The Latino Coalition's Legislative Summit will connect entrepreneurs with influencers and policymakers to discuss infrastructure investment, regulatory rollbacks and the leadership role women are playing in business. When Hispanic business owners speak, Congress and the executive branch must listen, and act."
"We are delighted to host Secretary Acosta and Sen. Hatch, two leaders who understand the importance of the small-business sector and the Latino community. We look forward to hearing their plans of creating an environment where Hispanic entrepreneurs thrive," Barreto added.
The one-day summit, held at the J.W. Marriott in Washington, D.C., will be open to the press and feature panels including:
- Red Tape Intelligence: What You Need to Know about the New Regulatory Landscape
- Building Together: Infrastructure Investment and the Potential for Small Business Contracting
- From the Board Room to the Shop Floor: Women Mean Business.
