ST. LOUIS, April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, shareholders approved renaming The Laclede Group (NYSE: LG) to Spire.

During the last three years, Spire has added nearly one million natural gas customers with two new utility companies, expanded beyond Missouri and quadrupled the value of the company. Utilities and subsidiaries including Alagasco, Laclede Gas, Missouri Gas Energy, Laclede Energy Resources and Spire Natural Gas Fueling Solutions will keep their names and logos until they transition later during 2017.

Starting tomorrow, April 29, the company's common stock shares will trade under the ticker symbol "SR" on the New York Stock Exchange.
