MINNEAPOLIS, July 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a non-profit dedicated to providing free school supplies nationally to students and teachers who need them, announces longtime executive director Dave Smith has stepped down as executive director. The board of directors named Renay Dossman as the incoming executive director. Smith, who led the Foundation since 2006, will remain as Executive Chair.
This year, under the leadership of Dave Smith, the Foundation has reached the milestone of donating $1 Billion in free school supplies, since its founding in 1995. The Foundation distributes supplies through four programs. These include a national network of 40 resource centers where teachers shop for free supplies, a Second Responder® program that provides school supplies to students impacted by natural disasters, a School Ready Supplies program that provides filled backpacks and bulk supplies to students, and a Teacher Supply Box program that provides successful applicants with boxes of essential supplies.
