The Kids In Need Foundation Announces Renay Dossman As New Executive Director
Former Executive Director Dave Smith steps down, and remains as Co-chair
MINNEAPOLIS, July 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a non-profit dedicated to providing free school supplies nationally to students and teachers most in need, announces the Foundation's Board of Directors has named Renay Dossman executive director.
Renay was selected for this position because of her leadership experience at both the corporate and not-for-profit level, and her passion for the cause of enriching the lives of students through school supplies. Renay's background includes leading teams in merchandising, product development, and design for Target. She also served as Vice President of Bakery and Vice President of Category Development for Southeastern Grocers. Renay and her husband are also the founders of Affirmation House, a not-for-profit for homeless men that provides housing and services to eliminate homelessness.

"This position provides me with an opportunity to use all of my prior experiences and skills to strategically take this organization to the next level."
This year, the Foundation has reached the milestone of donating $1 Billion in free school supplies, since its founding in 1995. The Foundation distributes supplies through four key programs. These include a national network of 40 resource centers where teachers shop for free supplies, a Second Responder® program that provides school supplies to students impacted by natural disasters, a School Ready Supplies program that provides filled backpacks and bulk supplies to students, and a Teacher Supply Box program that provides successful applicants with boxes of essential supplies.
Earlier it was announced that former executive director Dave Smith would maintain a role within the Foundation as Co-chair.
