DALLAS, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The John A Lewis trio will perform their unique style of jazz at the State Fair Wine Garden located at the State Fair of Texas Friday thru Sunday September 26th thru 28th.

The members of the trio are leader pianist/ composer John A Lewis, bassist Lincoln Apeland and drummer Merik Gillett.
The trio's style of music ranges from intense to introspective, from hard bop with a contemporary spin to the avant-garde while maintaining a commitment to swing.
Their repertoire consists of original music written by leader John A Lewis, jazz standards and tunes with a Latin tinge.
The trio has been described as a unique collaborations of like-minded musicians who each march to the beat of their own rhythm, yet the music remains in sync at all times.

The trio has been performing together for over four years. They have recorded two critically acclaimed CDs on the Valarteri Jazz label, including "Progenation," which Jazz Inside Magazine describes as "hypnotically pleasant," and their recent recording "One Trip Out," which The Birmingham Times calls "pure jazz with meaningful swing," and reached number eight on the CMJ jazz chart. "One Trip Out" has also been described as "meaningful originality" by Bebop Spoken Here. The trio is presently working on their third recording.
The John A Lewis Trio has performed at such venues as The Sammons Center for the Arts, the Jazz in the Atrium Series at the Dallas Museum of the Arts, The South Dallas Cultural Center, the Sandaga 813 music Emporium, the Carrollton Jazz Festival and clubs and restaurants through out the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
