The JCRC Condemns Ahmadinejad Hotel Stay as Bringing Shame to the Hilton Name
Urges Hilton to acknowledge poor judgment and to pledge to not host again
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRC) today sent a letter to the Hilton Manhattan East, hotel owners The Procaccianti Group, national headquarters of Hilton Worldwide, and Hilton's parent corporation Blackstone expressing dismay at the hotel's decision to host Iranian President Ahmadinejad and his delegation during the United Nations General Assembly this week in New York.
The letter states that the decision to welcome President Ahmadinejad and his delegation brings shame on the Hilton brand and the Procaccianti Group. The JCRC inquires as to why Hilton is ignoring the international consensus to isolate the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, who defies international law and brutally represses the people of Iran. The letter calls upon Hilton to acknowledge their poor judgment and to pledge to not host the Iranian delegation again.
