For five days, until June 11, the international solar technology industry will meet at the International Congress Center, Munich (ICM) of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. The event focuses on the fields of "photovoltaics", "solar thermal technology" and "solar thermal power plants". More than 140 speakers and over 2,000 participants from around the world are expected to attend more than 30 conference sessions.
From June 7 - 11, the international solar technology sector will share information on current industry trends and developments at the Intersolar Europe Conference. The conference will take place both in the run up to, and throughout the duration of the world's largest trade exhibition for solar technology, Intersolar, at Munich's International Congress Center (ICM) in the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. This year's event will attract visitors to more than 30 sessions, where over 140 expert speakers will share their expertise with conference participants. More than 2,000 visitors are expected to attend the Munich conference. The Intersolar Europe Conference is divided into three subject areas. In addition to "photovoltaics" and "solar thermal technology", the 2010 event will also take a closer look at "solar thermal power plants".
The whole range of solar technology
Presentations, workshops, seminars and panel discussions will provide visitors with information on current trends and developments in the solar industry. The opening event, "PV Market Trends Europe" and the session "Solar Thermal Markets EU and the Mediterranean" will provide a comprehensive overview of European markets. Other emerging solar markets, such as the United States, China and India, will be discussed in dedicated sessions. In addition to international markets, the conference will also focus on the latest technologies, financing issues and current international policies regarding solar energy.
The Intersolar Europe Conference sessions on "solar thermal power plants" will convey the latest information on various technologies for the generation of electricity from solar energy using heat-power-processes. The highlight of the event on this subject will be a panel discussion entitled "Desertec and rural electrification in Africa - how well matched are they?". Participants will discuss the financial, political and temporal aspects of Desertec with regard to Africa, as well as the way it is perceived by the public.
The session "Solar Heat for Industrial Processes and Small Scale Power Generation" will focus on the generation of industrial process heat. It will address technological developments, market potential and reference installations, and will serve as a discussion platform for experts from science and technology, project development and politics.
Another conference highlight is the "CEO Panel PV Industry". Four representatives of the international PV industry will discuss current and future market developments, focussing on the cut in feed-in tariffs for solar power in Germany. In a hosted discussion, the CEOs of PV components and production equipment manufacturers, as well as financing experts, will develop scenarios for the global PV industry of the future. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
An additional focus will be the production of photovoltaic cells and modules. The conference will examine global raw materials markets in the industry and their intermediate products, as well as installation construction and manufacturing technology. The conference will reflect the entire value added chain of solar technology.
New organizational structure
This year, all the individual sessions of previous years will be combined under one roof to form the Intersolar Europe Conference, meaning that program content will be better coordinated than ever before. The new structure will provide a clear overview of the different sessions. Booking individual sessions has become easier thanks to the new system which allows participants to register simultaneously for several sessions or to opt for a conference flat rate ticket. The Intersolar Europe Conference is sponsored by Changzhou EGing Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd., GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited and GE Energy, as well as a number of additional partners and sponsors.
Intersolar Europe will take place from June 9 - 11 at the Munich New Trade Fair Centre.
