The Institute for Defense and Business Offers Executive Education Program for Medical Logisticians

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., June 21, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Institute for Defense and Business (IDB) is offering their second Supply Chain Skills for Medical Logisticians in the 21st Century (MedLog21) program on July 28-August 2, 2013 at the Friday Center for Continuing Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

MedLog21 is designed for medical logistic professionals from the Veterans Health Administration, US government agencies, the medical services industry, and the Department of Defense, including the military services and DoD agencies. This custom program provides medical logisticians with tools, new skills and an understanding of business practices that will be driving medical logistics in the future.

During the five-day executive education program, participants will be able to learn more about groundbreaking advances in demand forecast planning and replenishment, process improvement, distribution requirements planning, and other tools for efficient medical supply chain management. Participants are challenged by expert faculty and guest speakers to work in a number of different learning modalities, including: classroom, group work, interaction with peers, and network building for ongoing exchange of ideas. 

The IDB is a non-profit research and education institute formed in 1997 by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the state of North Carolina. The institute provides custom executive education programs in the areas of logistics and technology, life cycle systems, leadership and organizational transformation, strategic studies, and stabilization and economic reconstruction.
